It was a long-exhausting trip to Cagayan. But when I saw many mountains around I felt a sudden electricity around my body. We decided to take our little family gathering in Cagayan because tito Dan built a new house out there. After the trip, we finally reached and took a nap inside my Tito’s house. They planned about the places were going to visit. Later on, we go to the market to buy some snacks. We experienced riding a “kalesa” to drop us home. I was surprised because they’re still places like this who’s maintaining the good culture they’ve started from the past.

The next day, we visited “Our Lady of Piyat Church”. The church is amazingly quite beautiful, as I enter inside the church I can’t help relaxing and appreciating every detail of the arrangement around.

We also wished on the well and lighted our candles with our prayers.
My tito said that we must try their city’s signature stir-fried noodles before leaving the town. It’s called “batil patong”.
Batil Patong or Pancit Tuguegarao is usually made up of Fresh Miki noodles, minced carabao’s meat, bean sprouts, cabbage, chicharon, and fried egg. Batil means mix and Patong means topping. Tito didn’t fail in suggesting this astonishing dish that I’ve never expected to be.
Our next destination is Callao Cave that is located in the municipality of Peñablanca, Cagayan. The cave is so big and well lit, its walls call out to every explorer to come to enter or even to come to pray. The formation of the rocks or the cave is breathtakingly awesome.
I can’t imagine how its almost perfectly made by nature. I kept on beaming while taking pictures around. Lastly, we packed and prepared our things for leaving the town. Cagayan is an interesting place to add in your travel bucket list. It may took a long journey but in the end it will give you a remarkable moments and satisfaction. A feeling of longing swept while remembering those adventures we made. And I think, I left my heart in the Province of Cagayan.
